Amanda & Jarrad met up with me in early summer for a York, ME engagement shoot. They found me staring in the window of The Goldenrod lamenting just how “early” in summer it was (they weren’t open yet) 😉 (there’s a happy ending though – keep reading!)
We took the short walk over to Short Sands Beach to start our shoot. They BROUGHT it! They’re SO comfortable with each other and themselves and it’s magic. They make holding hands and walking on the beach look like an art made of the simplest ingredients. (Love. Love is the ingredient, but that sounds really cheesy – sometimes the truth is cheesy.)
After a few beach pictures we meandered up to Nubble Light – the weather couldn’t have been more perfect and though there were people, everyone was so excited about their engagement, and their perfectly coordinating (with the lighthouse) outfits, they happily gave us whatever space we needed.
The sunset kind of fizzled on us, but not before we used it to amp up the sweetness for a second.
This diptych is a little bit Grover “near….far” to me, but I still love it. After all the snuggling and the cuddling and the being super awesome, they took it up a notch. We had passed a new ice cream place on the way there, and I jokingly said, when we parked – I was just going to stop for ice cream. Amanda exclaimed they had had the same thought, and so they suggested we go back for a few more pictures – with ice cream! best.shoot.ever
Their wedding was just a few short weeks later at the Danversport Yacht Club – and they adoration I have for these two only grew and we got a little bit more of the perfect sunset!
Thank you guys for such a wonderful summer evening – the ice cream, the company, and the love you guys share couldn’t have been better!
