In another New England, ‘if you don’t like the weather wait a minute’ moment, these York Maine family vacation photos played dodge the rain clouds!
We adjusted the time throughout the day trying to work around the impending storms. Like any great storm, it’s just unpredictable. As I drove up to York, it poured. When I got to the (holy crap amazing) rental house, it started to clear a little but the radar showed one more big system moving through. We talked about it and decided to power through. There was some covered area on the side of the house, and the gorgeous window filled living room was a photographer’s dream.
We started on the covered area, and then it cleared for a few minutes. The family and I hustled outside and rocked and rolled through as much as we could! Then, the skies opened up again and we made a mad dash for back inside.
As we were finishing up, the sun started to peek through and I noticed a rainbow off the side porch. Not just a piece of a rainbow. But the whole damned thing. You could see the pot of gold on both ends, and it was a double rainbow – so that’s like 4 pots of gold!
We made the most of it and braved the last few raindrops to get back outside and have one big family photo!
These kids were a hoot. I enjoyed each and every one of their personalities, even the littlest one, who was hell-bent on NOT smiling for me. Although his cousins and brother managed to crack his facade just once. I love his looks though. It’s so very, very, common for that age. I have a whole series of my kiddo at that age doing the same thing! It just cracks me up!!
