I am having SO MUCH fun with all these kids this summer. And these York Maine Family Photos are no exception!
So it’s not actually a cabbage patch (although, maybe there are cabbage in there!?). This wonderful property belongs to some lucky grandparents. They’ve got this gardening thing down, and they’ve grown an amazing family to boot! After some ‘standard’ ‘formal’ shots we let all hell break loose. Some kids were here, and there, and everywhere so we corraled them in the garden and had fun with it! I so enjoy getting the up close and personal shots of your kids. There’s so much personality and soul in those young eyes!
Funny story – when I was a kid, I desperately wanted a Cabbage Patch Doll. I was told no time and time again, it just wasn’t financially viable. We shared a property with my grandparents and I was lucky enough to grow up with them in my everyday life. My grandmother was a phenomenal gardener. One day, I was asked to head out to the garden. And there, in the dirt, I found a doll’s head! As excited as I was to finally have my doll, I was *pissed* that they made me get dirty to get it. As a kid, anything dirty was ‘icky’ and I ‘couldn’t like it’ – including the sandbox that my family made me when I was 3. They were all so excited and I took one look at it, barely touched the sand, and immediately walked away declaring “it’s icky I can’t like it” … what an ungrateful brat I was! (not really, I was an amazing child. Just ask my mother) 😉
But enough about me, and more of their beautiful faces and awesome personalities!
