No joke.
A decade ago, my mom became legally blind through a series of retinal detachments. She has partial vision and some days are better than others, but for all intents and purposes, she is legally blind.
There was a lot of adjustment, and I think we’d assumed we were settled in status quo. Quiet, but stable.
Then my mom stumbled on a group of visually impaired folks (haha, couldn’t see them) who went on adventures together. And she found Michele.
These two have the same twisted sense of humor (ok, fine, I’m in that category, too.) and together they seem to laugh through whatever the world throws their way.
Michele started a series of courses through the Hadley Institute.
Hadley creates personalized learning opportunities that empower people to thrive – at home, at work and in their communities.
Founded in 1920 by William Hadley following his loss of vision at age 55, Hadley offers education free of charge to anyone with a visual impairment, as well as families and professionals serving them. Today, Hadley serves nearly 150,000 individuals each year, from all 50 states and in 100 countries. Hadley is also the largest educator of braille worldwide.
Well, Michele, being the rockstar she is, killed it in her classes. All while raising her daughter middle school aged daughter and taking care of their two special needs cats (who have the equivalent of CP) (they’re the happiest cats and the funniest thing to watch).
Enough tangents, Melissa!
Michele was so exemplary that Hadley wanted to do an article on her and they needed photos. NH brand photography to the rescue! Fearing my mother’s wrath, she asked me.
JUST KIDDING.
But I really was her first thought after getting everything set up with Hadley, we scheduled her her own Personal Brand Session!
We had SO much fun at home and tooling around town showcasing some of the skills and techniques she’s learned and laughing so hard my sides ached.
