After an amazingly perfect Exeter fall engagement session I was already amped up for Courtney & Colby’s summer wedding at the Exeter Inn.
Check out these ridiculously romantically soft and gorgeous flowers designed by one of my favorites – Jessica at Cymbidium Florals. Her work is always stunning and Courtney & Colby’s florals were no exception. The flowers totally set the tone for all of the marvelous details throughout the day!
SO much love and laughter. And everyone helping get ready. And love. And did I mention laughter? I can’t see these pictures without smiling from ear to ear.
The getting ready room at the Inn overlooks the ceremony area and they were having fun peeking down at the guests arriving. Courtney has a perfect profile – and oh my head that veil! Colby! I love the grey tuxedos and the soft pink accents.
It’s time to get married! Courtney tried to keep the tears at bay – but the happiness spilled over and trickled down her cheek. And then so did Colby’s <3 As part of their ceremony they sealed up a “First Fight” box. If you’ve not heard of this before, it’s pretty cute.
‘Before your big day, gather a wooden box, a bottle of wine (or the alcohol of your choice), and two glasses. Write love notes to each other, explaining your feelings as you prepare to start your new life together as husband and wife. Seal your letter without letting your soon-to-be read what you’ve written.
During the ceremony, place the love notes inside the wooden box with the wine and glasses. Take turns hammering the box shut, one nail at a time, until the box is sealed.
Agree to keep the box sealed until a special anniversary, like your 10th or 20th, unless you hit a rough patch. Then, break open the box, pour the wine, read the letters, and remember what it’s all about!’
I’m not sure I could keep a good bottle of wine under lock and key that long, but I’m all about the love letters part!
SWAK! This group was so much fun. No lack of personality here!
FAVORITE! Then, it was time to party! I’m totally on board with the trend of the newlyweds quickly saying a few words after the toasts, especially when they laugh their way through it. #ilovecake. #thatisall.
Thank you guys for finding me and allowing me to be privy to your wedding adventures!!
