Like every summer, there seems to always be a stretch of time when everything gets rained out. Well, this Ogunquit Maine Cousins Beach Session crew was on top of it and super happy and flexible to change their shoot to the morning since there was a good chance of rain in the evening.
You’d never know there was rain in the forecast from the awesome beach day they were having! I arrived at the beach and they’d all already set up camp for the day. These patient, fantastic kids, were all dressed up and ready for me when I arrived and we walked down the shore a few minutes to a slightly quieter location.
All the while I marveled over genetics. It’s a by-product of my job that I look at faces all day long. Related faces for the most part. And when I learned that these two older girls weren’t fraternal twins or even sisters, I was floored! These cousins, wish they were sisters. Aside from being flabbergasted that they were ‘only cousins’ I was also so in awe of the memories they were making. The 4 of them will always have each other, and these summers when Mom/Aunt Sara and Grandma took them away for a few days to the beach so they could be kids. I got a little teary eyed watching them play and interact. I’m a little teary eyed now, remembering it all.

Many many thanks to Aunt Sara Mom for finding me and sharing a moment of her memories with me!
