School photos are a right of passage, I suppose. But they’re also a gamble.  Your kids will have them taken one way or the other, even if you don’t pay for them. And you’ll still most likely get a sneak of them anyway as they try and get you to retroactively purchase a package.  And then, you’re putting all your proverbial eggs in one basket.  You get one image of your child, sitting up straight and pretending to smile. They get maybe 3 minutes with the photographer during which time their expected to let their true colors and personality shine with a complete stranger with bright lights shining in their eyes. 

Sound fun?

Nah.

Spending 15 minutes on the beach making faces, laughing, and getting images that actually represent your kids’ personality.  More than one.  Many, that you can keep forever!
