When I walked into the reception room for this Exeter Inn NH Fall Wedding, I immediately noticed the table numbers… 1 1, 2, 3, 5 … Where’s four? What’s up with eleven?
Oh, wait!
It’s the Fibonacci Sequence! (The Fibonacci Sequence is the series of numbers: 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, … The next number is found by adding up the two numbers before it.)
Math geek = me. And it’s all because of MathNet. Do you remember Mathnet? It was a piece of Square One TV – which was one of my favorite shows. I used to rush home from school so I could catch the whole show, but at least Mathnet was always at the end.
They had all sorts of great capers solved with math. And The Case of the Willing Parrot featuring Fibonacci was one of my favorites.
(Shuts off youtube and runs away before I end up watching them all…)
But enough about me and my dorkiness… Caryn & Ben are amazing on many levels, not just their nod to math.
There’s a photo of a trumpet. Which, to be honest, I didn’t think too much of. And then I heard the story of how on one of their first dates, Caryn mentioned she wanted to learn to play the trumpet, so Ben immediately reached out to his mom and asked her to get his old trumpet out of storage and presented it to her.
How sweet is that!?
They’re so kind to each other, just full of love and adoration. It was such an honor to watch (and document!)
And their first dance was killer! Well played, friends!
