Danica & Chris 02.13.10

Nothing says love, or true New-Englander, like a Valentine’s Weekend wedding in NH :) Chris and Danica took the ultimate leap of faith — trusting the weather — for their nuptial plans and it went off without a hitch!

I arrived at the Executive Court as Danica was finishing up the final details. I LOVE her bouquet — the pinks & purples with the red roses and the white stephanotis are so romantic!

Hi Danica! You’re glowing!

Precision corset tying 101 and a little multi-tasking preparing the front and back at the same time ;)

Cute. With a capital C.

It must have been getting close to time because next thing I know the room was FILLED with people all making sure Danica looked her best. (good job folks!)

All these final touches can prove a tad boring for little girls who find their own fun in the jacuzzi faucet!

And then — it was time. Chris you look sharp. I love the striations in the tie!

The whole crew was smokin’. Yay for bold color!

Danica’s daughter was very overwhelmed by the whole thing. She had the whole place tearing up. And they are married!

Grandchildren! No lie, these kids were too cute and they stole the show.

A few shots in the foyer of the Best Western and then

Braving the cold for some outdoor shots. I’m loving these columns.

It was time to head in and warm up — and party! More of the beautiful flowers and a GREAT cake awaited us. I just love the simple and unique design on this cake!!

After the first dance it was time for some beautiful and heartfelt toasts.

I love that the kids signed the guest book. I can only smile thinking about showing and reminding them of it on their parents 25th wedding anniversary.

And then — it was time to get down to it. And remember - I already warned you that the kids were center stage!

but they weren’t the only one’s cutting a rug :)

love is timeless.

Who’s having a good time!? You are!

And I did too! Thank you guys for having me at your romantic Valentine’s Day for 100! :)

Danica’s 1st Birthday 02.06.10

This job affords many wonders and privileges. Somewhere in the top tier of that list is the documentation of tiny humans. Dani is one of them. This is the 3rd time I was asked to document her family and I was stoked to learn there was cake involved!

Cake you say!? Look at the teeth! Chomp.chomp.

And still with those eyes. Melt my heart why dontcha!?

She’s such an expressive kiddo. I love the left hand one with their puppy trying to be in the photo too.

Hilary made Danica’s first cake extravaganza. It was so pretty!

Soon after we finished up our private shoot the birthday guest started to arrive (I guess that meant I couldn’t eat all the cupcakes myself. Shucks)

The time had come for the birthday cake. Psyche! mom..give it back! Hilary had picked a nice, healthy carrot cupcake for Dani.

Which she gingerly explored and nibbled on, until…

Daddy snagged a chocolate one and snuck it to her. mom.. are you watching?

Then her eyes glazed over and she massacred the chocolate goodness.

Chocoholics everywhere rejoice!

And the final product. Job well done!

After some clean up and clean clothes it was time for presents!

Happy Birthday Dani Girl!

Victoria + Nicole = Expecting! 01.31.10

We met Nicole & Victoria … a million years ago through a mutual friend. When the made the decision to become parents I knew that they would master it with grace and elegence as they do everything else. So one spur of the moment Sunday shortly before their baby made a timely arrival, I headed over to visit with them and take some shots of this impending family.

This is one of my favorite photos of all time.

I’ve always envied their décor - and it makes for great photos :)

Victoria is always beautiful, but motherhood truly agrees with her.

Lucia, their spoiled cat, was not so sure about the lack of lap space and not at all interseted in posing for my photo shoot.

My kid didn’t come with an owner’s manual! It’s about time they made one of those!

Hello Baby! We all couldn’t wait to meet you!

I took some photos of this cutie at 23 days — and again just the other day at 6 months!! they’ll be coming down the blogline in due time. Due, get it? haha. Ok, nevermind. ;)

Katie & Jed 12.11.09

After meeting Katie & Jed at Kate & Marcus’ wedding in 07.08 and then taking their engagement photos on a super chilly day in 11.08, I KNEW that 12.11.09 was going to be an absolutely fantastical time!

I arrived at Bedford Village Inn as hair and makeup was finishing up with Katie’s mum.

And Katie was getting into her dress. I love the hands making their appearance in the left hand photo.

Once the dress was in the right place it was time for the veil!

And some s.e.x.y. red shoes. HELLO Christmas!

It was just about time and Katie’s dad came in to check on her. Just look at them — and her mom & brother in the background. Such an enamored family!

Katie was BRAVE and humored my idea of heading out on the balcony in the pitch black of the windy December night. I don’t know — I’m think it was worth it.

Then it was time. Oh Jed. I heart you. Not like Katie does though — wow-eeee! :)

Something about the two of them and the feeling of their wedding was just so classic. I found myself loving so many of their photos in black & white.

Short & Sweet, but to the point.

Christmastime is magical. Christmastime wedding at BVI is like a Martha Stewart December issue came to life. uh.maze.ing.

From the details in the bouquet to the ornament place cards everything was perfection.

They danced very lovely parent dances, but my most favorite part was when Katie’s parents took the dance floor and danced like it was their first dance. Katie and Jed watched them with love and awe (and perhaps making some mental notes ;)

Then the props came out and the party got down!

Flash Forward! I caught Kate & Marcus during a slow dance and I knew it looked familiar! I love that even without seeing their faces you can tell how in love they are. And, um, how much they are in love with the little one to be — Kate was 5 months pregnant in this photo! (And I get to meet their CA-UTE! baby this fall!)

But enough about Kate & Marcus — this is after all Katie & Jed’s wedding! And here they are one last time surrounded by friends and family celebrating them. As it should be!

Thank you thank you guys. More than you know.

Reed 11.08.09

This is Reed in 2008. We hung around and shared some sideways glances.

This is Reed 2009. Those sideways glances have become confidence & smiles! Oh and he has a new pet!

A whole bunch of them actually! And each and every one of them has a name, and he can tell you all about them.

Reed:Chicken Whisperer.

And when life hands you chickens? Fresh Eggs $2.00!

He is just so much fun! He’s got the greatest expressions.

Reed had some other news to share with me too!

He was getting ready to be a big brother!

When I left their cute, soon to be expanding family I knew I’d be back once the wee bitty made (her!) way into the world. I can’t wait to share those with you too — Reed is totally an AWESOME big brother!

Nicole & Jay Engaged! 10.10.09

Nicole & Jay contacted me in September for their November wedding. That left October for engagement photos. When I suggested this location they were just as excited as I was and we met up for some f.u.n.!

Jay is full of love — the moment I arrived he jumped out of the car and hugged me! I do think he loves Nicole more though ;)

I’m in love with this place. It’s so quintessential.… The perfect weather didn’t hurt either.

After we left the farm land we stopped at my most favorite tree ever. These photos make me so excited for fall!

I had such a great time with them that morning!

Kacy & David 10.03.09

Kacy & David got married! Which is the general course of things after you have engagement pictures taken ;)

I arrived, at what felt like, really really early to Kacy’s hotel room where she & the girls were getting finishing touches on hair & makeup

Another friend from High School — Elissa — was Kacy’s make-up artist. In the below right picture I, per usual, was oblivious to some cultural reference from the 90’s and it caused much laughter among the masses when I cluelessly asked if it meant something completely different.

Here Elissa is demonstrating how to apply the blush to the proper parts of the face… until Kacy laughed too hard at being a blowfish.

All the girls had these ADORABLE shoes that also did a nice job of posing with the rings for me.

We headed to Alpine Grove to do the getting ready. The weather gods were not smiling on us .…again… but jelly beans make everything better! Their tables were all a different flavor of Jelly Belly and their favors were a mixed bag of all the flavors. It was really cute!

The waiting for and the getting ready.

The best man keeping the rings close.

2 firsts for me — puppies in the wedding party & the inability to make it through the recessional without the cell phone in hand ;)

He obliged me by putting it down for the family shot though.

I loved the color scheme for the wedding!

I graduated HS with all 3 of these people! They are a GOOD TIME! (We also had a good time shooting their family photos last year!)

Rain or no rain Kacy was determined to have some outdoor portraits (yay!) So after a quick shot inside with the dogs (because muddy paws on wedding dress isn’t the look we’re going for) — we ventured outside!

This hilarious kid is a family friend and volunteered to be the umbrella guy — between shots he would run in and keep them dry until I said “now” then he’d dash out of the frame. Except for this time. Then David kept her protected as they walked back to the party.

And people were partying! Mad Libs were available at every table!

I’m no beverage expert.. but I’m pretty sure that’s not root beer.…

It was very much a family affair with cutie patooties every which way!

Oh — and MINI GOLF! The rains finally subsided and the mini golf & outdoor activities were opened up and taken advantage of!

Someone handed Kacy a balloon as she was about to go cut the cake and for whatever reason, she held on to it the whole time.

And poor David was so distracted by it he didn’t see this coming! (sounds good right?) ;)

Kacy’s dad used to scare the buhjezzes out of me when I was a kid — but he’s really just a big tender teddy bear!

As my time wound down, the photo booth was just getting started!

I went to HS with these guys too — - or at least — - I think I did ;)

What a great way to celebrate love & family! (and drama — - there was definitely a love of musicals underlying in there too)

Kacy & David will be appearing again on the blog in the near future.. they’re due with their first baby NEXT MONTH! We’re all anxious to meet the mini Minni!
