Kristi & Steve’s Engagement Party 08.14.10 | York, ME Engagement Photos

I know Steve roundaboutly through good old Exeter High School. He came down to the Tavern one night newly fianced to Kristi and I tried to convince them to hire me for their wedding. Unfortunately it was not to be as their wedding was in Michigan. However, Steve’s mother (the fabulous Mrs. Conlan) asked if I could photograph the engagement party they were throwing for them and I couldn’t say no!

Before the party got rolling we took some engagement photos. Being short on time because of a parade in York we couldn’t make it to the beach but we worked it out in the back parking lot of Foster’s Clambake!

d

After a few shots we went back inside to celebrate! It was a very ocean themed event, quite appropriate for a clambake!

Chocolate candy rocks! I love it!

Such a great setup.

Kristi rented a cotton candy machine and quickly got to work flossing it up, it was really tasty.

If you’ve never been to Fosters Downeast Clambake it’s an experience! A lot of fun and entertaining to say the least!

A special ocean blue drink for the occasion. Cheers! :)

The girls & boys

And the bride & groom

And an uninvited guest! … well, ok, I guess he was invited but I’m guessing he’d rather not have been!

I scarfed my chicken (not of the sea, actual chicken, I don’t actually like lobster!) and headed off to shoot Lisa & Doug’s wedding. I don’t usually do two events in one day, but the Conlan’s are like family and I did my best!

I hear I missed a fun loving after party, and the wedding was lovely! And Steve nicely gave me my favorite title of “Best Photographer Ever” So a million points.. I mean thanks.. to him!

Congratulations Kristi & Steve!

Jenn & Jason Married! Part II 08.14.10 | Fryeburg, ME Wedding Photography

After a fantastic part I it was on to part II!

Do the bustle! doot da doot da doot doot doot doo da doot doot doot da doot. And the bustle they did!

Embracing the rustic atmosphere at the  Stone Mountain Arts Center Jenn & Jason’s décor was birdhouse chic. Such a great theme!

So many things I love about this photo!

The crew…

Who set up this photo with out them knowing what they were doing. With friends like these… ;)

I love the way he kisses her head.

Honestly I somehow skimmed over this when I was editing but when I went back for blog posting I fell in total love with it.

He effortlessly holds her bouquet in one hand and whisks her off the carriage safe in his arms and she straightens his boutonnière she’s mussed in the getting down.

Seamlessly from ceremony to rececption

So much emotion and interaction in this one shot.

I can’t help but think of the Last Supper when I see this. Only, there’s a baby grand piano and, it’s the first supper!

They make me swoon. It’s the only word to describe it.

Jenn & Jason’s wedding was definitely a family affair. So many cute little ones about

And Jason’s dog was in attendance the whole time and so loved and well behaved!

That’s either a pinky promise or a shake of the fist if you dare to throw frosting at me…

Gentle & romantic. Those two words pretty much sum up the whole event!

Loving parents

Jenn’s brother busted some serious moves on the dance floor all night. Drew a crowd he did.

Swanky & Sassy. Two words I’d absolutely use to describe them as a couple.

Well, I guess you can’t ALWAYS be gentle & romantic. ;)

But that’s what is at the core of these two and where they always come back to.

Jenn & Jason — thank you for finding me and adopting me for the day. I was honored to be part of your adventure and wish you all the luck in the future!

Jenn & Jason Married! Part I 08.14.10 | North Conway, NH Wedding Photographer

When I first met Jenn & Jason I knew they were a match made in heaven and I was really really excited when they asked me officially to photograph their wedding.

I arrived at the Oxford House Inn a few minutes before Jenn & her crew got back from the hair salon looking divine.

As they had a few bites to eat I poked around in their beautiful suite and found details and gorgeousness galore!

LOVE the butons, love the lines!

Do not try this at home! She was protecting her hair, not trying to get out of the wedding ;)

I love the fascinator!

Oh Jenn!

A few quick shots (individually) of the bride and groom on the stunning grounds at the Oxford House.

No, seriously picture perfect!

Two more very important details of the wedding.

This picture cracks me up. Every time I look at it I think that Jason is asking the officiant wth is taking Jenn so long! (She wasn’t late, its just what it looks like!)

What Jason didn’t know was that that little detail from before, was his dog, who Jenn orchestrated as a surprise to walk down the aisle and be a part of the ceremony. She said he would cry and sure enough <3

Trying to recompose himself he looked up as Jenn started coming down the aisle

And then he was beyond overwhelmed

The ceremony & reception were held at the Stone Mountain Arts Center a stunning and unique venue in Brownfield, ME

Happiness is!

Married!

So many great moments from this day I think I need to make this a two part party!

Stephanie & Mike 05.02.09

I met with Stephanie & Mike last spring, they were already so excited about their wedding plans. We met (on the coldest day ever) in November for their engagement photos and had a great time so I was very much looking forward to their wedding. I had no idea how much I was going to love every last second of it!

I showed up just as Stephanie was getting into her dress. Her mother was already dressed — and did I ever cover that AMAZING dress!

Ste_Mik_003

Steph’s flower girl was textbook!

Ste_Mik_058Ste_Mik_068

As was Stephanie — absolutely breathtaking.

Ste_Mik_061

The moment it sets in — Steph is watching out the window as all her guests arrive and take their seats.

Ste_Mik_092

Lovely!

Ste_Mik_187

I LOVE how these two were in step — all the way down to the end!

Ste_Mik_173

Steph & her Dad reach the end where Mike is glowing and ready for her.

Ste_Mik_219

The setting, the people, the spring time, the weather — everything was intensely perfect!

Ste_Mik_225

From the other angle — still perfection!

Ste_Mik_247

Ste_Mik_232Ste_Mik_284

Fabulousness.

Ste_Mik_294

A great looking bridal party!

Ste_Mik_432

The scenery and grounds at The Dockside in York, ME are just amazing!

Ste_Mik_474Ste_Mik_534

Candy bars are all the rage these days — Stephanie & Mike scattered words of happiness around theirs — it was a great touch.

Ste_Mik_572

I’ve seriously run out of adjectives to describe how enamored I was with this wedding.

Ste_Mik_586Ste_Mik_581

And how enamored I am with these two! Their joy was abundant and contagious!

Ste_Mik_645Ste_Mik_654

I love her parents looking on — their whole first dance was amazingly emotional.

More Details

Ste_Mik_594

Ste_Mik_731

Stephanie’s dad popped the champagne — the cork went nearly to the ceiling! You can see it in the top middle right of this shot.

Ste_Mik_691

Caught with their hand in the candy jar!

Ste_Mik_766

Ste_Mik_788

Their wedding was the same day as the Kentucky derby. The guests kept sneaking into the bar to see what was going down.

Ste_Mik_780Ste_Mik_795

Even more emotional was when Mike’s sister stood in for their mother who passed away. That’s their father next to Steph in the background. The whole room was in tears, myself included.

Ste_Mik_905

Ste_Mik_869

too cute for words! (glad I had a camera to describe it instead!)

Ste_Mik_1175

My night ended with a full on Paradise by the Dashboard light throw down. I SO love my job!

Ste_Mik_1154

Stephanie & Mike, thank you so, so much for letting me witness your spectacular affair. You and your guests went above and beyond in your concern for me in my full on bronchitis-ness! I wish you all the happinesses that life can bring.

Hello Melissa! Thank you for the pictures. they are beautiful! I’ve ordered the DVD! ~Steph

Stephanie & Mike 11.02.08

Stephanie & Mike are getting married in York ME in May. They wanted to get some good York scenery in their engagement photos so they asked me to meet them at Nubble Light. It was cold, I can’t lie, but these two are so cute it didn’t matter!

Nothing says York like the lighthouse! They’d never even been here before –we had a great time!

After the lighthouse we decided to go down the road a piece and see if we could get out of the direct wind. They also wanted some shots with their adorable puppy!

Melissa These came out fantastic. GREAT WORK… we are both so impressed… I love them!  THANK YOU!!!! THANK YOU!!!! THANK YOU!!!!! ~Stephanie & Mike

Thanks for braving the cold with me Stephanie & Mike! I had so much fun and your puppy is just too cute for words! I’m looking forward to May!

Susie & Gus 10.03.08

I met Susie at my favorite restuarant, it was an early afternoon and very quiet and we started chatting — she mentioned she was getting married and I mentioned I was a wedding photographer and presto! I was so excited for their small intimate wedding at the York Harbor Inn, ME. The weather could not have been more perfect!

I arrived at her suite as she was finishing up. Her bouquet was stunning!

What a gorgeous bridal party!

Her fiancé, Gus, as Susie makes her grand entrance.

Then it was outside for some ‘formals’

Did I mention the weather was amazing?!

These two were so simply, purely and naturally in love — it was a joy to be around!

Susie took off her shoes to walk through the grass and I snagged them for a quick set up on the wraught iron fence.

Their ‘reception’ an AMAZING dinner for their family and closest friends.

The guests egged them on into a quick first dance as a married couple and Gus went in for the dip!

Susie & Gus! Thank you for having me as part of you intimate and special day. I very much enjoyed myself and your friends and family made me feel especially welcomed and at home. With love and support like that you’re destined for a life of wonder & surprise!

Jenilee & Brian 09.28.08

Jenilee & Bryan were also married during Hurricane Gloria — though the worst of it had passed, it was still too damp and dreary outside for the ceremony so they instead had it in the hall of the gorgeous Spring Hill in South Berwick, ME. Their favors looked DIVINE!

I loved her color scheme, that lime green is totally becoming one of my new favorite colors.

The posse. Theses little boys were hysterical. The one on the right is Jenilee & Bryan’s son. It was so adorable to see them run around in their little tuxes!

The ceremony

It was a wonderfully sweet and touching ceremony, not a dry eye in the house.

First dance as husband and wife!

The toasts, more tears, so much love!

The foliage was divine!

The DJ gathered everyone for a group shot and then had me stand on a very expensive speaker to get the shot!

Brian wanted to make sure he had backup incase I didn’t do a good job..

Searching for the garter! Jenilee just too cute for words!

I loved the concentration on their faces during the bouquet and garter tosses

Congratulations Jenilee & Bryan!

I hope all is well! Sorry it took me so long to use the print credit. I just figured after the holidays and what not it would be easiest to sit down and TRY to decide which I liked best… It wasn’t easy! You did an amazing job and I’m very happy with how they turned out! ~ Jenilee

Thank you for having me!
