360 Public Relations 05.13.11 | Boston, MA Corporate Photography

I had an absolute BLAST when I went to Boston to shoot some “corporate” head shots for the 360 Public Relations firm. Recently named the boutique agency of the year by the Holmes Report they’ve got plenty to celebrate, including the 9 years before this one.

Looking for some new staff photos they asked me to come in for a few hours and hang out. I have to admit I was sort of expecting run of the mill head shots, line em up and bang em out. Boy was I surprised when this fun loving crew took it to the next level.

What — you don’t alway wield a samuri-esque sword when you’re on the phone?

Caroline’s prop was her cutie patootie son — a total ham!

Loving the ducky is none other than Vanessa — many thanks to her for throwing my name into the ring!

We did take some ‘standard’ shots too — but these folks are all so gorgeous it was a walk in the park!

Or rather — this was a walk in the park! We took the show on the road to enjoy the fresh air and green grass.

I love the reflection photo .. It makes me think of like Sex in the City or some such thing — this place has to be an amazingly great place to work!

Before my time was up we did some impromptu office shots — they were working really hard on the task at hand. The looking fabulous came easily.

A great conference room is a must — my favorite thing? That whole wall on the right is dry-erase board! Talk about big ideas!

Thanks 360pr for letting me usurp your Friday morning — Congratulations on all your accomplishments and best of luck in all your future endeavors! And thanks for the fantastic pizza… I’ll crave it forever now!

OH! And their mircosite launched yesterday! The headshots can be seen here ->http://www.360publicrelations.com/10th/headshots/ Don’t forget to roll your mouse over them :)

SO COOL!

Benjamin’s 10th Birthday

Turning 30 didn’t bother me, didn’t think twice about it. But being mom to a 10 year old — that certainly threw me for a loop (still does, every day). We went to the Rockin’ Rib Fest again for the 2nd year and B had his game face on.

Much fun and copious amounts of food were had!

Part two of the birthday was a first for all of us -

Admittedly I have ZERO interest in sports. But the buzz in the air and the grandness of it all was very exciting!

I only had the point and shoot so we could stay as compact as possible, I was showing B how much the camera could zoom but I kinda really like the resulting shot. My 10 year old!

The sunset was beautiful!

Yoooooouk!

What a gerat way to celebrate being 10!

I love you B!

Boston Stay-Cation 02.2010

February Vacation.

Bought house: check

Moved in: check

Made it through holidays: check

Still winter: check

So what to do?! We decided to take a mini-vacation to Boston. And it was the best decision ever. Despite the rain/sleet/deluge that was about we managed to time the weather well and experience so many things new, and old, with Benjamin. We ate at Fire & Ice and Wagamama. We went to the MOS, the MFA, the Top of the Hub, & the Aquarium. We stayed at the Hilton Back Bay for 2 nights with a gelato bar in the lobby and had coldstone. It was just fabulous family time.

I put my point and shoot to the task trying to demand high performance while still fitting in my pocket with my phone & keys. It tried it’s best to keep up with me.

First stop was the MOS (Museum of Science) - it’s crazy how much it hasn’t changed since I was a kid — the basics of science are still just that! Basic! However, the ‘exhibits’ of what a cassette tape is were a little off putting.

The next day we went to the aquarium. My mom came down for the day to hang out with us. She is recently visually impaired. Depth and shadows and monochrome are difficult for her to discern and the glass of the tanks was an interesting experience for her. The octopus was hiding in the back of his ‘cage’ and mum couldn’t see him. She put her hand on the glass and wished he would come closer. And he did — he traversed right over, looked her in the eye, and then went back to the corner. It was pretty amazing. And also, I love jelly fish exhibits.

The Aquarium, like the MOS hasn’t changed much since I was a kid and it’s been a bit since we took Benjamin down. The photo on the left is from.. maybe 20042005 and although I tried to get the seals to coöperate they refused. The water level is nearly the same though. *sniff*

Most of our days looked like this — it gave a really neat feeling to the city.

Every once in a while we’d get a break in the clouds though and I loved the shadows in this old stone church.

One of the most surprisingly interesting things we did was go to the Top of the Hub at the Prudential Center. I’d never been up there before and when we got to the top the skies cleared up long enough for us to take the tour; which was actually really informative and not so boring! (I was skeptical)

Our last trip was to the Museum of Fine Arts. It was much less hit or miss than I thought it would be with the 10 year old boy. He LOVED the Egyptian exhibits and the musical instruments. He managed to find a decent attention span for the ‘classics’ too. My most favorite part was this all sided mirrored bottle collection. My photo makes it look kind of like a painting but it was fully three dimensional and just STUNNING. It was probably the only time I really regretted not having my pro-camera gear with me. But I made the best of it!

We had a great time. He’s definitely at the right age for the mix of child like wonderment and the ability to keep himself entertained when it’s not all go. go. go.

Prabmeet & Sandeep Part II 08.23.09

After Part I and my over indulgence of lassi we retreated to Prabmeet’s hotel suite for a little down time. After regrouping my equipment and backing up the mornings photos it was time to get back to it. The hair & makeup artist (who I also found out did the amazing henna) had arrived and was working on transforming Prab for her evening look.

She skilfully applied the bindi and then I watched in awe as she gracefully folded and draped the sari.

When I first met with Prab & Sandeep to talk about photography he was very dapper and clean-cut, he explained that he would need to grow out his beard for a few weeks before the ceremonies and during our down time he (gladly) got to shave again. I love love love their coördinating colors.

They had a friend chauffeur us to Post Office Square in Boston. The gardens and architecture there so lovely! We quickly knocked out some (of my favorite ever) portraits and jumped back in the car to head to the reception.

No really — these rank up there for my most favorite shoot ever.

Then we headed back to the Davinci Restaurant for an unbelievable evening of dancing, laughter and some of the most amazing food I’ve ever had.

Simple, elegant details to not overwhelm the décor of this wonderful restaurant. The window to the open kitchen is a great touch and I watched them present

one plate after another more delectable than the first.

After dinner the dancing began and I’m not sure it ever stopped!

A few people didn’t dance the whole time,

but others didn’t stop once!

I took my leave of this celebration shortly before midnight exhausted and exhilarated. And then my GPS died and I had to get lost in Yonkers.. or no no, near Fenway, at the end of a game. Either way I was unamused but nothing could take away the awesomeness of the things I’d expereinced (and eaten!)

Prabmeet & Sandeep, Thank you for affording me this opportunity! It was a wonderful experience and I’m so glad that I got to be a part of it.

Prabmeet & Sandeep Part I 08.23.09

There are many things that I love and enjoy as a wedding photographer and there are many things that I hope to check off my ‘bucket list’ during my (hopefully very long career!) One of the first that I got to mark off was a traditional Indian wedding. I was so humbled when Prabmeet & Sandeep asked me to photograph their ceremony and reception and when the day finally came it was indescribable.

Admittedly, part of the indescribableness was due to very limited English that was spoken but even that made everything that much more amazing and surreal, I just followed along with my lens and documented a day rich in tradition and family. I’ll try and interject what I understood (and remember 8 months later) but I don’t want to do an injustice to the awesomeness.

I arrived at the hotel where Sandeep was having his finishing touches applied by his sister and other family members.

Then we headed to the temple for their wedding ceremony.

Once Prabmeet arrived Sandeep was led to the front of the room while his bride was escorted up the aisle behind him.

She was picture perfect, I was speechless when I saw her.

One of the things that Prabmeet and Sandeep were very good about explaining to me was the the marriage ceremony itself would consist of walking in 4 circles. And even though there was no English for me to understand, the emotions were overwhelming and universal.

After the ceremony we went back to the hotel for some more traditions and rituals, while we waited for some things to be set up Prabmeet showed me her traditional accessories including the completely intricate henna that adorned her hands and feet.

More traditions followed to finish off the morning’s epic celebration.

Before the first part was completely over we snuck outside for some portraits.

With the first part of the day wrapped up we returned to the hotel for a scrumptious Indian Buffet lunch where I may or may not have overdone it on the mango lassis and chicken tikka.

The rest of the afternoon is soon to come!

Kim & Bryan 04.25.09

Kim & Bryan planned a crisp spring wedding in April. What they got was a 90+ day with 3 million% humidity. Ok, that might be a little overstated, but it was an incredibly hot and muggy day for April in Boston!

Kim’s niece Tini didn’t seem to care though — her cuteness couldn’t be deterred by anything!

Kim_Bry_009

I love this photo — this beautiful flower girl had a little bit of stage fright, so all the bridesmaids were helping keep her mind off things — here they’re comparing manicures.

Kim_Bry_061

Here she is with her twin brother — they were THE BEST formal kids. Too cute. Kim looks gorgeous also!

Kim_Bry_435

The bridesmaids were trying to keep as cool as possible — the AC vents could barely keep up!

Kim_Bry_053

Hot, muggy AND windy! The veil was well secured though.

Kim_Bry_076

She did it — she toddled down the aisle alone with a few spins, twists and happy dances — all the way to her Curious George waiting for her at the end.

Kim_Bry_100

These two were a great follow up act — stealing the hearts of everyone.

Kim_Bry_117

Kim’s mum was so happy and excited — I love her here trying to sneak a peek at her daughter and her husband before they got to the end.

Kim_Bry_164

St. John the Evangalist in Cambridge is SUCH a gorgeous church!

Kim_Bry_241

After the ceremony and formals at the Hilltop in Saugus, MA, Kim asked all her bridesmaids to put up her bustle, it’s was a great scene!

Kim_Bry_589

These two rocked out the grand entrance.

Kim_Bry_652

I loved these Hershey decal stickers!

Kim_Bry_624

These families have so many adorable kids. They totally dominated the dance floor.

Kim_Bry_787

Schooled!

Kim_Bry_785

Kim was sweet enough to take a moment and celebrate her cousin, who’s birthday was that day also!

Kim_Bry_841

Happy 13th Birthday! So cute!

Kim_Bry_842

Then it was time for Kim & Bryan to eat their cake.

Kim_Bry_875

Beautiful!

Kim_Bry_884

Tini & her mom Kelly, Kim’s sister and maid of honor.

Kim_Bry_947

The whole group!

Kim_Bry_960

Thank you Kim & Bryan for having me at your wedding — it was a wonderful affair full of friends, family & love! I wish you all the best!

Thanks so much. I saw them this morning and I love them! ~Kim

Sherry & Corrine 10.31.08

Sherry & Corrine called me from Germany and asked if was available on 10.31 for a wedding in Boston, on a boat. I was so excited to be able to say yes!! I got into Boston a little early and had a nice relaxing meal in the Seaport Hotel lounge and then headed off to the dock! The weather was SO amazing — I had pleny of layers for Boston in October, but never needed any of them.

Their family made and glazed all these bud vase favors, I loved the color.

Their neice, SUCH a cutie!

Things got started a little late — we were supposed to be at the ceremony location at sunset, but we were just leaving as the sun started to set. It all worked out though — and the scenery was just amazing.

Here come the brides!

They aquired their dresses in Germany, they were so stunning.

Trying to light the unity candle — it was sort of windy on the moving boat!

A few formals before the sun ran away for the night

These crystal boats were wrapped at everyone’s place settings. Their rings are gorgeous — interlocking diamond & wedding band — one is round cut, the other princess cut.

Their other neice, and flower girl, she was so lively!

Dancing with dad.

Who didn’t stop dancing all night!

\

More skyline as we approach the harbor.

Sherry & her brother

One last dance before we departed.

What an amazing event! These two have great family & friends and everyone seemed to have an aamzing time. Shooting on a boat was a LOT of fun –and the guests took good care of me making sure I didn’t fall overboard and allowing me access to move around the crowded deck to try and get shots from all angles.

I wish you all the luck Sherry & Corrine!
