Dani turns 2! 02.06.11 | Seacoast, NH Children’s Event Photographer

Sometimes you just want to throw the party. You don’t want to worry if your camera is around, and charged, and the card is empty. Sometimes you’d much rather just host and socialize and just sit and revel in your amazing children and not only see them through the back of your camera. That’s where I can help. If you’re interested in having me photograph your next awesome event-that-you-wouldn’t-necessarily-consider-hiring-a-photographer-for then let’s talk!

Oh Dani Dani Dani — where does the time go!? How are you already 2 years old!? And so full of PERSONALITY (though, I know your parents well so that doesn’t actually surprise me) ;)

Daddy’s pride & joy

And so full of love for mum & big brother

And nana too! Good looks run in this family — your cousin is a sweet beautiful little girl also!

Hilary did an awesome job with the cupcake tower again this year. And pink m&m’s perfect for a princess!

Happy Birthday To You!

Much more sure of what to do with cake this year than last year she had no problems digging right in!

mmm, mmm, good!

Time for presents!

And here she is from all the times I’ve photographed her — 6 months, 12 months, 18 months, and TWO!

So much love Miss Dani, Hil, Rich & Zac. *smooch*!

Benjamin’s 10th Birthday

Turning 30 didn’t bother me, didn’t think twice about it. But being mom to a 10 year old — that certainly threw me for a loop (still does, every day). We went to the Rockin’ Rib Fest again for the 2nd year and B had his game face on.

Much fun and copious amounts of food were had!

Part two of the birthday was a first for all of us -

Admittedly I have ZERO interest in sports. But the buzz in the air and the grandness of it all was very exciting!

I only had the point and shoot so we could stay as compact as possible, I was showing B how much the camera could zoom but I kinda really like the resulting shot. My 10 year old!

The sunset was beautiful!

Yoooooouk!

What a gerat way to celebrate being 10!

I love you B!

Danica’s 1st Birthday 02.06.10

This job affords many wonders and privileges. Somewhere in the top tier of that list is the documentation of tiny humans. Dani is one of them. This is the 3rd time I was asked to document her family and I was stoked to learn there was cake involved!

Cake you say!? Look at the teeth! Chomp.chomp.

And still with those eyes. Melt my heart why dontcha!?

She’s such an expressive kiddo. I love the left hand one with their puppy trying to be in the photo too.

Hilary made Danica’s first cake extravaganza. It was so pretty!

Soon after we finished up our private shoot the birthday guest started to arrive (I guess that meant I couldn’t eat all the cupcakes myself. Shucks)

The time had come for the birthday cake. Psyche! mom..give it back! Hilary had picked a nice, healthy carrot cupcake for Dani.

Which she gingerly explored and nibbled on, until…

Daddy snagged a chocolate one and snuck it to her. mom.. are you watching?

Then her eyes glazed over and she massacred the chocolate goodness.

Chocoholics everywhere rejoice!

And the final product. Job well done!

After some clean up and clean clothes it was time for presents!

Happy Birthday Dani Girl!

How to celebrate a birthday

Part 1: Let them eat cake.

Cake? Cake you say?
bdaydinner001

I like cake –and being nearly 2 I can feed myself with a fork. Small bites are for babies.
bdaydinner002
You know what else is for babies? Forks. I don’t need no stinkin’ fork, it’s just not working fast enough.
bdaydinner003
Aha! See, I’ve done it! I’ve become one with the cake!!
bdaydinner004
Not to be outdone on her birthday, Nichole decides this is a good idea and she requires a faster method of eating the cake also.
bdaydinner005

Now that was great fun, haha, posed for the picture.

but wait — - — while i was taking the picture, my brother and my cousin got up from their seats and came around to her side of the table and with lightning speed.…

WHAM!
bdaydinner006
Admittedly the pictures are blurry, but you must forgive me because I didn’t see it coming and once it happened I was laughing so hard I couldn’t breathe, but still trying to take pictures.
bdaydinner007

Her clearly indented cake. (p.s. Best Cake EVER — Coldstone Creamery’s Cake Batter Confetti)
bdaydinner008
After we cleaned them up, my cousin redeemed herself by presenting Nichole with her fabulous birthday gift: The Snuggie (the child is only our nephew, we had to give him back)

Part 2: Eat, Drink & Be Merry

Our very very good friend Allison helped me plot and execute a 6 course wine dinner for Nichole’s birthday. We cooked and one of our other good friends Annie helped with the wine.

Course two:

And here’s where I failed. After course two was the risotto, which I was in charge of. So for 30 minutes I stirred and stirred and stirred and I made BRILLIANT risotto, however, Annie had topped off my glass repeatedly and my focus got ..er.. distracted, and I forgot to take photos of the rest of the courses as I was too busy eating amazing food and having a great time with our friends. I very much regret not having photos of everything, but I can’t be too upset because that was the only thing that went awry!

With that I leave you with the menu card from the evening:

Happy Birthday Nichole!!!

Love,

All of your Nearest and Dearest

Matthew Turns 2!

2 years ago I was just starting to dive into photography as more than a hobby. My friends asked me to take some photos of their new baby, Matthew. He was only about 2 weeks old here.
And now, he’s TWO!
I can’t beleive it’s been 2 years — we’ve all had so much fun! He’s the cutest little boy, so full of personality!
His mom and dad helped him blow out his candles.
On this AMAZING cake that his mom made and decorated. It was so gorgeous and SO tasty!
Happy Birthday Matthew!!

Isabel turns 3! 01.17.09

Isabel is the daugther of our new friends Stephanie & Jeff. She is a firey red head who just happened to turn 3 last week. She has the best birthday shirt ever– and who says redheads can’t wear pink! I love that the “Little Miss (and Mister)” books are making a comeback. I had them when I was a kid (most notable Little Miss Bossy & Little Miss Helpful (no comment). We got her little miss chatterbox & little miss giggles — it sums her up perfectly!

Mmm cake & icecream!

She’s just soooo cute!!

This was her reaction as her Mom & Nichole paraded in her myriad of presents. TOO funny!

And this was her thank you to the crowd. Gotta love the confidence and gratefulness of a 3 year old!

Happy Birthday Isabel!

“The photos from Isabel’s party are amazing!!! You are amazing!!! If anyone needs a photographer.… I will soooooooo recommend you!!!” ~Stephanie

80th Birthday Celebration

I’ve known Mr & Mrs Sanderson for a while now — I climbed the scaffolding of the North Church with them last October amongst other things. Mr. Sanderson is an ambitious man, as represented by his joyous family & friends, mountain climbing cake, and folk singing and dancing at the 165 person party thrown Thanksgiving weekend to celebrate his 80th birthday.

Dear Melissa, Forgive me, please, for taking so long to get back to you. The pictures are just wonderful! We couldn’t be more pleased, and certainly would like to have some. I need to do my Christmas letter, and would like to use several of them in it. Thank you! Thank you! And love, Ellie
