Wilson Family 10.17.10 | Holderness, NH Family Photography

Happy Valentine’s Day! I share with you a little of my family.

B and I took a trip up to the Squam Lake Science Center with my brother and his family.

This is my nephew Killian. He’s smart beyond his years and a little bit eccentric. (A quality I hope he never loses!)

And my niece Avery showing me the owls.

See? Owls!

On the left is the gorgeous morning sun, and on the right is my gorgeous all the time son. ;)

Mama & her babes.

The boys — I gasp when I see how tall my kid is; my brother is something like 6’2″ — and Benjamin is only 10! The photo of Killi & Daddy makes me all proud older sister like.

My baby brother (who just turned 29!) I’m going to have some serious anxiety when he turns 30. Yikes.

Avery with her boys.

More of the animals that they have there. (It took all the restraint I had to not put this on the above photos too ;) )

The grandchildren. I’m sure he’s channeling Gilbert Godfried.

On the way home I tortured Benjamin with a few senic shots -

I’m a sucker for a covered bridge!

Thanks for the adventure family!

Jenn & Jason Married! Part I 08.14.10 | North Conway, NH Wedding Photographer

When I first met Jenn & Jason I knew they were a match made in heaven and I was really really excited when they asked me officially to photograph their wedding.

I arrived at the Oxford House Inn a few minutes before Jenn & her crew got back from the hair salon looking divine.

As they had a few bites to eat I poked around in their beautiful suite and found details and gorgeousness galore!

LOVE the butons, love the lines!

Do not try this at home! She was protecting her hair, not trying to get out of the wedding ;)

I love the fascinator!

Oh Jenn!

A few quick shots (individually) of the bride and groom on the stunning grounds at the Oxford House.

No, seriously picture perfect!

Two more very important details of the wedding.

This picture cracks me up. Every time I look at it I think that Jason is asking the officiant wth is taking Jenn so long! (She wasn’t late, its just what it looks like!)

What Jason didn’t know was that that little detail from before, was his dog, who Jenn orchestrated as a surprise to walk down the aisle and be a part of the ceremony. She said he would cry and sure enough <3

Trying to recompose himself he looked up as Jenn started coming down the aisle

And then he was beyond overwhelmed

The ceremony & reception were held at the Stone Mountain Arts Center a stunning and unique venue in Brownfield, ME

Happiness is!

Married!

So many great moments from this day I think I need to make this a two part party!

Reed 11.08.09

This is Reed in 2008. We hung around and shared some sideways glances.

This is Reed 2009. Those sideways glances have become confidence & smiles! Oh and he has a new pet!

A whole bunch of them actually! And each and every one of them has a name, and he can tell you all about them.

Reed:Chicken Whisperer.

And when life hands you chickens? Fresh Eggs $2.00!

He is just so much fun! He’s got the greatest expressions.

Reed had some other news to share with me too!

He was getting ready to be a big brother!

When I left their cute, soon to be expanding family I knew I’d be back once the wee bitty made (her!) way into the world. I can’t wait to share those with you too — Reed is totally an AWESOME big brother!

Kacy & David 10.03.09

Kacy & David got married! Which is the general course of things after you have engagement pictures taken ;)

I arrived, at what felt like, really really early to Kacy’s hotel room where she & the girls were getting finishing touches on hair & makeup

Another friend from High School — Elissa — was Kacy’s make-up artist. In the below right picture I, per usual, was oblivious to some cultural reference from the 90’s and it caused much laughter among the masses when I cluelessly asked if it meant something completely different.

Here Elissa is demonstrating how to apply the blush to the proper parts of the face… until Kacy laughed too hard at being a blowfish.

All the girls had these ADORABLE shoes that also did a nice job of posing with the rings for me.

We headed to Alpine Grove to do the getting ready. The weather gods were not smiling on us .…again… but jelly beans make everything better! Their tables were all a different flavor of Jelly Belly and their favors were a mixed bag of all the flavors. It was really cute!

The waiting for and the getting ready.

The best man keeping the rings close.

2 firsts for me — puppies in the wedding party & the inability to make it through the recessional without the cell phone in hand ;)

He obliged me by putting it down for the family shot though.

I loved the color scheme for the wedding!

I graduated HS with all 3 of these people! They are a GOOD TIME! (We also had a good time shooting their family photos last year!)

Rain or no rain Kacy was determined to have some outdoor portraits (yay!) So after a quick shot inside with the dogs (because muddy paws on wedding dress isn’t the look we’re going for) — we ventured outside!

This hilarious kid is a family friend and volunteered to be the umbrella guy — between shots he would run in and keep them dry until I said “now” then he’d dash out of the frame. Except for this time. Then David kept her protected as they walked back to the party.

And people were partying! Mad Libs were available at every table!

I’m no beverage expert.. but I’m pretty sure that’s not root beer.…

It was very much a family affair with cutie patooties every which way!

Oh — and MINI GOLF! The rains finally subsided and the mini golf & outdoor activities were opened up and taken advantage of!

Someone handed Kacy a balloon as she was about to go cut the cake and for whatever reason, she held on to it the whole time.

And poor David was so distracted by it he didn’t see this coming! (sounds good right?) ;)

Kacy’s dad used to scare the buhjezzes out of me when I was a kid — but he’s really just a big tender teddy bear!

As my time wound down, the photo booth was just getting started!

I went to HS with these guys too — - or at least — - I think I did ;)

What a great way to celebrate love & family! (and drama — - there was definitely a love of musicals underlying in there too)

Kacy & David will be appearing again on the blog in the near future.. they’re due with their first baby NEXT MONTH! We’re all anxious to meet the mini Minni!

Mini-Sessions! 07.17.09

One of my very first weddings was the reception of Cara & Brian in Sept of 2007. There I met a great group of girls, one of whom is Joanna Scaparotti a wellness industry coach and justice of the peace based in Salem, MA. She contacted me for some head shots for her new website launch and in talking to her we ended up planning a mini-session where she gathered a few friends and we met at a central location and had a blast!

First up was Stephanie & her too cute for words dog Cedi. They were great models — Cedi definitely seemed at ease ‘being in pictures’!

Next is the gorgeous Joanna. Officiant, reiki master and just all around lovely person!

Finally I had the pleasure to shoot Deb and her son Caleb.

He was a CHARACTER — so cute and crystal blue eyes that reminded me so much of my (not so) little boy’s eyes.

He was such a love — mama’s boy all the way!

See? Look at those eyes, I mean really!

Lastly we took a few alone shots of his stunning mother. I think she looks like Uma Thurman!

I had an absolute blast having some one on one time with these lovely ladies, Cedi & Caleb!

If you’re interested in learning more about mini-sessions, please contact me for more details!

MVG Animal Barn!

Part of our morning adventure when we went to the Mountain View Grand was to go down to the barn, on suggestion from our waitress at breakfast (oh, the breakfast! I still have dreams about that buffet!!)

It didn’t occur to us to drive down, since we could see it from our room, but by the time we got there we realized it was probably only 10 degrees out and WINDY! We survived, and the animals were totally worth the trip.

These two were so cute!

Those eyes!!

Even the animals were c.c.c.c.cold! This poor llama was making ‘smoke’ with his breath!

These are the rare curly sheep — so much wool! The waitress said ‘kind of like your hair!’ but she meant it in the nicest way possible :) mountain view grand barn
We were much more fascinated in them than they were in us!

I LOVE the construction of barns — this roof was just amazing, I was mesmerized!

As we were about to leave we found the hot cocoa station. It made our walk back to the hotel much warmer!

I’m nearly finished with Kimberly & Jeff’s wedding, I keep finding favorites and I can’t wait to make a full post!!

Stephanie & Mike 11.02.08

Stephanie & Mike are getting married in York ME in May. They wanted to get some good York scenery in their engagement photos so they asked me to meet them at Nubble Light. It was cold, I can’t lie, but these two are so cute it didn’t matter!

Nothing says York like the lighthouse! They’d never even been here before –we had a great time!

After the lighthouse we decided to go down the road a piece and see if we could get out of the direct wind. They also wanted some shots with their adorable puppy!

Melissa These came out fantastic. GREAT WORK… we are both so impressed… I love them!  THANK YOU!!!! THANK YOU!!!! THANK YOU!!!!! ~Stephanie & Mike

Thanks for braving the cold with me Stephanie & Mike! I had so much fun and your puppy is just too cute for words! I’m looking forward to May!
